This week I was asked to reflect on my journey to building a PLN. In order to do this most effectivley, I created this infographic using Piktochart. Enjoy!
Your visual clearly conveys the process of reflection about the tools used to create your PLN. The pro/con approach taken when constructing your infographic will assist other educators in deciding whether to attempt using one of social media tool to expand their PLN. Jessica, I really like that you gave us a pros and cons list followed by an overall summary of your thoughts on that particular piece of your PLN. I have yet to use Instagram for my PLN, but I am more interested in checking it out after reading your review. It sounds like it is more stream-lined that any of the other social networks. I wonder if it's as beneficial to a high school teacher? I think I may be looking more into having my students use it for projects than I will be using it to find ideas. I also think it's interesting how you do not prefer text-heavy social networks. I'm pretty much the opposite, but I bet it has more to do with our learning styles than anything else.
Jessica, I love the table with the pros/cons list. I completely agree with you about Pinetrist being easy to use. I am also not a fan of Twitter, because it is often information overload! I am not a fan of Instagram and still don't get it. However, after reading your review I think I will try it a bit more and see if it grows on me.
